The 150 ventilators, equipped with global positioning system (GPS), will be installed at the Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre (SPCCC) that began operating on April 26 at the Radha Soami Beas campus in south Delhi's Chhattarpur area.

A ferocious second wave of coronavirus in New Delhi has overwhelmed hospitals and caused a shortage of oxygen, leaving many helpless as they try to treat their sick relatives at home.

Hospitals in Delhi continued to struggle in getting timely oxygen supply on Monday amid an increasing number of Covid-19 cases. A flurry of SOS messages continued to flood social media platforms like Twitter for seeking help and timely supplies of oxygen.

As per the present arrangement, once oxygen tankers reach the Delhi border, the amount and quantity of oxygen to be supplied to hospitals is determined using an ‘SOS system adopted by the Delhi government. The tankers are taken charge by Delhi authorities.

Delhi Police arrested three people for black marketing of Remdesivir, a drug used to treat COVID-19 patients, on April 25. The accused were allegedly selling the injection at Rs 40,000 per piece. Rs 1,20,000 cash, 3 injections seized, 100 oxymeters and 48 small-sized Oxygen cylinders were recovered from their vehicle. Case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
